In the Midnight Hour
By Audrina Jones Bunton

The bible tells a story about Paul and Silas who journeyed to their place of prayer. On their journey, they were attacked, stripped, and beaten by an angry crowd who was displeased with their teaching. After Paul and Silas were severely flogged, they were thrown into the inner cell of the prison, with their feet fastened in the stocks.

About midnight, Paul and Silas prayed and sang hymns to God. Suddenly, a violent earthquake shook the foundations of the prison and all the prison doors flew open. As a result, the chains of every prisoner fell off! Their chains were broken because in the midst of their darkest hour, their current situation was not their focus. Instead of succumbing to their situation, they prayed and sang hymns to God.

Like Paul and Silas, you too, may find yourself confined in a relationship, on a job, or situation that seems inescapable. You may feel that you have done all that you know how, but your situation still seems hopeless. You feel that you have nowhere to turn and no one to talk to.

In your midnight hour -- your escape is just a breath away. Sing a song, say a pray, think positive, or read a positive word -- and like Paul and Silas, your chains will be broken.

Like Paul and Silas -- in your midnight hour -- you too will find that solace is just a breath away.

Think About It!!
"Trust in yourself and you are doomed to disappointment;....but trust in GOD, and you are never to be confounded in time or eternity." Dwight L. Moody

"Measure not God's love and favor by your own feeling. The sun shines as clearly in the darkest day as it does in the brightest. The difference is not in the sun, but in some clouds which hinder the manifestation of the light thereof." Richard Sibbes
